The day to day work of the Society is carried out by its office holders of Chairman, Principal Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and Information Officer (The Executive). All the office holders act in a voluntary capacity as do members of the Council. The office holders are members of the wider Council of the Society. The Council has up to 18 members and provides general advice and support to the Governor-General and the Executive on the policies and administration of the Society.
Meetings of the Council are held quarterly and the Society's Annual General Meeting (open to all members) is held on 30 January each year.
The Society has honorary chaplains from the Roman Catholic Church and the Established
Church of England.
